In this match being played at Korogi Sports Park, India won the toss and batted first and scored 211 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In response to this, the Pakistan team is chasing the target. For India, Abhishek Sharma played a stormy innings of 61 runs in 28 balls, and Tilak Verma played an unbeaten 51 runs in 22 balls.

Did Abhishek show an aggressive style again?

Abhishek Sharma gave a fast pace to India in the beginning itself. He scored 61 runs in just 28 balls, which included three fours and seven sixes. His strike rate was more than 217. Abhishek equalled Yuvraj Singh's record of hitting seven sixes in an innings against Pakistan. Yuvraj had hit seven sixes against Pakistan in Ahmedabad in 2012.

Abhishek was seen continuously putting pressure on Pakistan's bowlers in this match. However, Rafat Minhas ended his innings by stumping him. Despite this, the Indian team had got a great start in the powerplay.

How did India cross the 200-run mark against Pakistan?

After Abhishek's dismissal, the pace of the Indian innings slowed down a bit, but the middle order kept the innings under control. Ishan Kishan and Captain Shreyas Iyer made useful contributions. After this, Tilak Verma and Shivam Dubey scored quick runs in the last overs and took India beyond 200. India's score of 211/6 became its highest score in T20 cricket against Pakistan. Earlier, India's highest T20 score against Pakistan was 192 runs.

Was Pakistan able to put pressure on India while chasing the target?

Pakistan's start was not as per the target, and at one time the team had lost four wickets for 53 runs. After this, Sam Ayub and Hasan Nawaz tried to handle the innings. Did this final add a new chapter to the India-Pakistan rivalry?

This men's cricket final of the Asian Games 2026 is special for both teams. India defeated Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the semi-finals to reach the final, while Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets. There was no handshake between the two captains even during the toss in the match. This trend has been seen in recent India-Pakistan cricket matches. In other games of the Asian Games, normal greetings were seen between the players of the two countries, but in the cricket final, the two captains did not shake hands.

India has now set a target of 212 runs for Pakistan, and the gold medal match has reached its decisive phase.
