Earlier, when the two teams met at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, SRH had defeated RR by 57 runs. With this victory, Sunrisers Hyderabad have reached a tally of 10 points and have climbed to the third position on the points table. Rajasthan has slipped down to the fourth spot. This was RR's third defeat of the season.
