New Chandigarh: Punjab Kings displayed awesome batting power and some disciplined bowling to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs in an IPL 2026 encounter here on Sunday evening. Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl first. Powered by explosive half-centuries from Priyansh Arya and Conolly, Punjab posted a total of 254 runs. In response, the Lucknow team could only manage to score 200 runs for the loss of 5 wickets.
Setting out to chase a target of 255 runs, Lucknow got off to a decent start. Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni added 61 runs together. However, in the sixth over, Ayush lost his wicket. Subsequently, Rishabh Pant played a good innings alongside Marsh. Yet, Marsh was dismissed after scoring 40 runs, while Pant fell after smashing 43 runs off just 23 balls. As soon as their wickets fell, Lucknow's innings began to falter.

Subsequently, Nehal Wadhera scored 13 runs and Shashank Singh contributed 17 runs, propelling the Punjab Kings to a total of 254 runs for the loss of 7 wickets.
