Shreyas Iyer jumps 18 places in T20I rankings, Kohli loses No. 1 spot to a Pakistani

Latest ICC Men's Player Rankings: Shreyas Iyer has gained in the T20I batting rankings. Rashid Khan has become the number one T20 bowler. Virat Kohli has suffered a loss in the ODI rankings.

New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) released the latest T20I and ODI rankings for men's players on Wednesday. Indian T20I captain Shreyas Iyer has made a significant jump. He has climbed 18 places to seventh in the T20I batting list, his career-best ranking. He currently has 786 rating points.

The 31-year-old Iyer has entered the top 10 in T20Is for the first time. He scored a blistering century in the first T20I against the West Indies on Tuesday. Iyer scored an unbeaten 102 off 43 balls at the Lucknow ground, including ten fours and six sixes. This was the first century of his T20I career. Four Indians now feature in the top 10 batsmen. Ishan Kishan (902) holds the top spot, Abhishek Sharma (887) is second, while Tilak Varma (719) is tenth.

Pakistani loses the number 1 crown

West Indies batsman Sherfane Rutherford has climbed 10 places to 37th after scoring a fifty in Lucknow. Meanwhile, there has been a major change at the top of the T20I bowlers' rankings. Pakistan spinner Abraham Ahmed (718) has lost the number one T20 bowler title. Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan (720) has taken his place at the top. Three new entries have been made in the top 10 bowlers' rankings. Indian spinner Axar Patel has moved up 16 places to number seven. He has 664 points. Axar took two wickets for 26 runs in the Lucknow match. Bangladesh's Nasum Ahmed (up three places to eighth) and Mahedi Hasan (up 10 places to ninth) have also gained.

Superstar Kohli suffered a loss

Superstar cricketer Virat Kohli (781) has dropped one spot in the ODI batsmen's rankings, dropping to third place, losing 15 rating points. New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell (794) has moved up to second. Kohli scored a century in the first ODI against the West Indies, but scored 29 runs in the second and returned for a duck in the third. Captain Shubman Gill is the number one ODI batsman with 841 points. He scored a double century and a century in the West Indies series. He managed just one run in the third match. Gill has gained 25 points. Rohit Sharma (770) is at fourth place, gaining 17 points. Rohit scored a century in the second ODI, but missed the third by 8 runs.

KL Rahul entered the top 10

India wicketkeeper KL Rahul has entered the top 10 in the updated list of ODI batsmen. He climbed seven places to joint 10th after scoring a century in the third ODI. He has 653 points. Ireland's Harry Tector also has the same number of points. West Indies captain Shai Hope has moved up two places to sixth after his 162-run innings in the last match. West Indies' Amir Jangoo, who was outside the top 100, has now moved up to 55th in the list. He scored a century and two half-centuries. West Indies' Jaden Seales has moved up 12 places to 10th in the ODI bowlers' rankings. He achieved his career-best rating after taking four wickets in the India series.
