Mithun Manhas to be BCCI President: Mithun Manhas, former Delhi captain is among the front-runner to become the new president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). If this happens, he will make history to become the first uncapped cricketer to lead BCCI.
It is to be mentioned here that the last date for filing nominations is Sunday. The BBCI president elections will be held on September 28 at the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).
However, there was trend since 2019 amendments in connection with the BCCI consitutions, that the BCCI president post is filled unopposed. From last few years, the board has consistently appointed former cricketers as its president namely Sourav Ganguly and others.
As Mithun Manhas is the front-runner in the BCCI president race, let's know all about him. Mithun Manhas has both administrative and cricketing experience. He was earlier in an administration role with Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). Meanwhile on the cricket field, he was said to be one of the most dependable cricketer.
Former cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar released a statement which clearly stated that he has shut all possibility of becoming the new president. Meanwhile, no speculations were made regarding Delhi First-Class cricketer Mithun Manhas to be in the race of BCCI President.
