Women's World Cup 2025: The Pakistan women's cricket team's poor performance continues in the 2025 Women's World Cup. After losing to Bangladesh and India, the team was also defeated by Australia. Notably, Pakistan failed to surpass 200 runs in all three matches. After three consecutive defeats under captain Fatima Sana Khan, Pakistan's chances of reaching the semifinals are now virtually over. This defeat has also had an indirect impact on the Indian team's standing.

Pakistan's semi-final hopes in jeopardy

Each team has seven matches to play in the group stage. Pakistan has lost three matches so far and has no points. Even if the team wins all of its remaining four matches against South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka, it can only achieve a maximum of eight points. Given its current form, this seems almost impossible. Given Pakistan's poor batting performance and consistently declining form, reaching the semi-finals is now only a mathematical possibility.

Pakistan's defeat also shocked India

Australia defeated Pakistan by 107 runs, causing a major shift in the points table. India has now slipped to third place. Earlier, England's victory had forced India to drop from No. 1 to No. 2, and now Australia's win has pushed India down another spot. However, India has a chance to regain the top spot. India will face South Africa on Thursday, and if Harmanpreet Kaur's team wins this match, they could return to the top of the points table.

Pakistan at the bottom

Pakistan's three losses have pushed them down to eighth, the lowest-ranked team. New Zealand is in seventh place with two losses, while Sri Lanka is in sixth place with one loss and one draw. South Africa is in fifth place with one win and one loss. Bangladesh is in fourth place and maintains its place in the top four. Australia, England, and India hold the top three spots.

Pakistan disintegrated again

At one point in the match between Pakistan and Australia, it seemed as if Pakistan might pull off an upset. Australia had lost seven wickets for 76 runs. However, Beth Mooney (109 runs) and Alana King (51 not out) forged a brilliant partnership and took the team's score to 221. In reply, Pakistan collapsed for just 114 runs. Once again, the team's weak batting and inexperience were exposed. This victory for Australia proves why it is considered the strongest team in the world.
