Delhi Hotel Fire: Accused Lavkesh Bajaj Sent to 4-Day Police Remand

A Delhi court has remanded accused Lavkesh Bajaj to four days in police custody following a devastating fire at a Malviya Nagar hotel that claimed 21 lives.

New Delhi: New Delhi fire accident investigation had started. Accused Lavkesh Bajaj had been arrested so far. Police took him in remand for four days.

What police had told in court?

Police told during the hearing that it is mandatory to having him in custody. Because, we also needed to gather several other documents related to the hotel.

However Lavkesh argued against the remand and said in the court that he is assisting in any way to the police and related agencies. His lawyer told the court that even he didn't received the FIR copy.

What about Delhi Police investigation?

Delhi police is also continue with the investigation and applicable interrogation. Police told MCD in a letter, to investigate the structural safety survey of the building so that the safety parameters could be analyzed.

Who were those people?

Among the deceased, 9 were Indian and 6 were foreign nationals. So far, 6 people have not been identified; the process of identifying them and informing their families is underway.

How much ex-gratia did the PMO grant?

It was stated by the PMO that Rs. 2 lakh would be given to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.

And who all expressed grief?

Several leaders from across the country commented on this. This news had made the headlines. Rajnath Singh, Pushkar Singh Dhami, Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister, PMO, and the local MLA of Delhi's Malviya Nagar expressed their grief.
