Delhi Metro Closes 16 Key Stations For 2nd Consecutive Day Amid CJP Protest

Passengers can change from one line to another at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations, but will not be allowed to exit or enter these stations.

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Thursday has taken a major decision amid Cockroach Janata Party's protests in the national capital. Due to security reasons, about 16 metro stations in and around Delhi have been closed to passengers until further notice for second consecutive day.

DMRC on Thursday has announced that  16 metro stations including Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat will remain closed from 07:30 am till further instructions due to CJP's 'Chalo Sansad' protest and security reasons.

According to an update from the DMRC, these 16 stations will remain closed until further notice and trains will not stop there. However, for the convenience of passengers, the ability to change metro lines at three interchange stations has been kept open.

Passengers can change from one line to another at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat stations, but will not be allowed to exit or enter these stations.

Which stations are closed?

The Delhi Metro announced the closure of 16 metro stations in a statement posted on X. "Metro stations will be closed from 07:30 AM till further instructions. However, Interchange facility shall remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat," the DMRC said in a post on X.

  • Ramakrishna Ashram Marg
  • Barakhambha Road
  • Supreme Court
  • Seva Teerth
  • Janpath
  • Mandi House
  • Central Secretariat
  • ITO
  • Delhi Gate
  • Indraprastha
  • Khan Market
  • Jor Bagh
  • Shivaji Stadium

Will there be interchange facility?

According to the DMRC, passenger traffic will be completely closed at these stations due to security reasons. However, interchange facilities will remain available at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat metro stations.

The DMRC has clarified that interchange facilities will be available for passengers at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat stations. Furthermore, passengers are advised to check the latest Metro information before commuting and use alternative routes.
