New Delhi: The Delhi Police have launched a new initiative to make women and girls more confident and aware of their safety in both the physical and digital worlds. The Outer North District Police inaugurated the 'E-Nirbhik' campaign during a special women's safety programme held at the NCC Building in Sector 19, Rohini.
The initiative aims to educate schoolgirls and women about cybercrime, online harassment and digital fraud while promoting safer use of technology. As part of the campaign, schools were also provided with E-Nirbhik QR code boxes to strengthen awareness and make access to safety-related information easier.
Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Zone-I, Devesh Chandra Srivastava, attended the programme as the chief guest. He emphasised that protecting women and children was not solely the responsibility of the police but a collective responsibility of society.
He encouraged girls to remain confident, learn self-defence, use technology responsibly and never hesitate to seek assistance whenever required. Senior police officials, including the Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range, and DCP Outer North District, along with teachers, representatives of social organisations and a large number of students, attended the event.
The district's Parivartan Cell has trained approximately 50,000 women and children in self-defence during 2026 so far. In a special initiative, 509 students from Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in Badli underwent a 15-day self-defence training programme.
During the event, the students demonstrated their newly acquired skills through live self-defence performances, highlighting the importance of confidence and preparedness.
The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit achieved a significant milestone under Operation Milap by tracing 116 missing minor children and reuniting them with their families.
Additionally, 160 safety kits were distributed under Operation Prahari. The police also used the Shishtachar campaign to promote good behaviour, civic responsibility and positive public conduct.
The programme featured street plays, community interactions and an award ceremony to recognise contributions towards public safety. Representatives involved in CCTV initiatives in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, RWA and MWA members, students, police teams and responsible citizens were felicitated.
Popular social media personalities Pankaj Sharma (Baklol Video), Sweety Shokeen, Deepti Sharma (Haunted Deepti) and Yogesh Kathuria also attended the programme. Their efforts to spread awareness and strengthen communication between the police and the public were appreciated.
The event conveyed a broader message that women and girls should be provided with an environment built on safety, dignity and independence, where confidence replaces fear.
The programme was organised under the leadership of DCP Outer North District Shobhit D. Saxena, with active participation from the Parivartan Cell, Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, local police stations, beat officers and community policing teams.
