New Delhi: With festive shopping crowds increasing pressure on roads across the national capital, the Delhi Traffic Police has intensified motorcycle patrols to prevent traffic congestion and ensure safer, smoother journeys.
The motorcycle unit of Traffic Range-I has stepped up surveillance on major roads and vulnerable stretches during morning and evening peak hours. The initiative aims to address traffic disruptions promptly, reduce unnecessary delays and help commuters travel more conveniently during the festive season.
The motorcycle patrol unit is focusing on roads where rising vehicle volumes could disrupt traffic flow. The key stretches under enhanced surveillance include:
Lal Jagat Narayan Marg
Bhagwan Mahavir Marg
GT Karnal Road
Akshardham Road
Murga Mandi to Paper Market Road
Khajuri Chowk to Gokulpuri Flyover Road
Mall Road
Subhash Park to T-Point Chhatta Rail Road
Police personnel are also monitoring traffic conditions on the Hanuman Temple to Pili Kothi Road, Tis Hazari to Kashmere Gate Road and around Khanna Market, along with other important locations.
Special attention is being given to busy intersections, crowded stretches and traffic-sensitive areas where congestion could develop during peak hours.
With vehicle numbers expected to rise during the festive period, traffic personnel deployed on motorcycles are maintaining continuous surveillance on the roads.
Whenever traffic movement is disrupted or congestion appears likely, personnel will intervene promptly and attempt to regulate the flow of vehicles.
The initiative is designed to minimise road disorder, prevent avoidable delays and improve the safety and convenience of commuters.
Under the leadership of Vijayant Goyal Arya, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic Range-I, the Delhi Traffic Police is working to ensure effective traffic management throughout the festive season.
The police have urged motorists to follow traffic rules, maintain discipline on the roads and drive safely.
The department's message to commuters is clear: celebrate the festivities while following traffic regulations and reaching destinations safely. The aim is to ensure that festive celebrations continue across the capital without traffic congestion compromising public convenience and road safety.
