Keeping the pace of life safe on the road; ensuring strict adherence to rules

New Delhi: To convey the message of prioritizing safety amidst the fast pace of road traffic, the Delhi Traffic Police organized a special road safety awareness program at the Nand Nagri DTC Depot. Held under the aegis of the Nand Nagri Traffic Circle, the campaign saw the participation of a large number of DTC drivers, conductors, other staff members, and members of the general public.

The Road Safety Cell and Nand Nagri traffic staff played an active role under the supervision of Shweta Chauhan, DCP (Traffic), Eastern Range. During the awareness campaign, audio-visual presentations and films related to road safety were screened using an ME (Mobile Exhibition) van. Through these films and visual presentations, attendees were shown how even a moment of negligence on the road could lead to a major accident.

Adhering to rules for the sake of life

The campaign placed special emphasis on preventing road accidents and promoting safe road-use behavior. Traffic police personnel encouraged drivers to follow traffic rules, maintain discipline on the road, and drive responsibly. A key focus of the program was raising awareness about preventing minors from driving. Parents and drivers were cautioned that handing over vehicles to underage children could pose a serious threat to the lives of the children themselves as well as other road users.

DTC drivers and conductors were sensitized to the importance of safe driving and urged to adopt patience, caution, and responsible behavior on the road. They were informed that drivers involved in public transport play a crucial role in road safety and that their vigilant behavior is directly linked to the safety of thousands of passengers.

Awareness van serves as a mobile platform for road safety

The awareness films and audio-visual content screened in the ME van made the program highly effective. People were made to understand the importance of traffic rules through real-life scenarios and road safety messages. The objective of the program was not merely to disseminate information about the rules but also to instill a sense of responsibility among people to act as conscientious citizens on the road. The traffic police urged every motorist to prioritize the safety of their own lives and the lives of others over the haste to reach their destination.

Speed ​​on the road is important, but not more than life itself.

The DCP’s message: "Follow the rules on the road and return home safely. Control your speed to protect your life. Respect traffic rules to ensure everyone's safety."
