New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its scrutiny across Punjab and Chandigarh, aiming to uncover an alleged empire built on corruption and illicit property dealings. The ED has conducted search operations at premises linked to former Punjab Industries Minister Shyam Sundar Arora, his son Prateek Arora, and various business groups associated with them. This action has sent shockwaves through both political and business circles.

The ED’s operation is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption and the accumulation of assets disproportionate to known sources of income, involving the former Industries Minister. The agency is also examining alleged irregularities in the allotment of industrial plots by the Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC), as well as subsequent changes in the ownership of these plots.

Investigating Links in Property Transactions

The search operations cover premises associated with the Marbella Group, the Gulmohar Township Group, their promoters, and businessman Sanjeev Juneja. The ED is investigating alleged business ties and property transactions connecting these groups to the former minister and his family.

The core of the investigation focuses on the flouting of regulations during the allotment of industrial plots, changes in ownership, and aspects related to alleged corruption. Further action in the case will be determined following an analysis of the documents and other evidence seized during the searches. The investigation is currently underway, and the specific roles of the parties involved will only become clear once the findings of the probe are revealed.
