Government proposes talks four times in 24 hours; JP Nadda to meet protest leaders

New Delhi: The Central Government has once again invited representatives of the protesting group at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for talks, noting that it has sent four formal proposals for a meeting between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon.
 Speaking on the matter, Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated that this is not a question of prestige for the government; they are always ready for dialogue, as discussions lead to solutions. The Union Minister added that if the student representatives wish, the meeting could take place at either J.P. Nadda's residence or his office.

What did Jitendra Singh say? 

Speaking to the news agency ANI, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh said, "The government has sent four formal proposals for talks with their representatives since yesterday afternoon... This is an open invitation to all our young friends: the government is ready to discuss all issues at a time and place convenient to you. The talks can be held at J.P. Nadda's office or residence. We will not let issues of prestige or ego stand in the way. Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda and I will be present for the discussion. Through dialogue, we will gradually move towards a solution. This is part of the continuous steps being taken by the government for the welfare of students. I humbly appeal to all of you to come forward and engage in dialogue.

Why was Abhijit Dipke absent from Jantar Mantar? 

Questions have been raised regarding the absence of CJP leader Abhijit Dipke from the protest site at Jantar Mantar. 
"I’ve been down with a fever and severe body pain for the last few days, but I’ve been pushing through with painkillers. My apologies if you don’t see me at Jantar Mantar today. I need to get a few hours of rest and recover. Will be back at the protest site by evening," Abhijit Dipke said in a statement on social media.
