New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs has launched a nationwide public awareness campaign against drug abuse, using a motorcycle rally to promote national unity and encourage young people to build a healthier, drug-free future. The 11-day initiative, being held from October 21 to 31, was flagged off from the National Police Memorial in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, under the theme of fighting drug abuse.
Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) are participating alongside members of other Central Armed Police Forces, central police organisations and state police units. The joint effort aims to take the message against drug abuse to communities across the country, highlighting the importance of collective action in tackling substance misuse.
The rally seeks to reinforce the message that preventing drug abuse requires cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the public, with particular emphasis on protecting young people from the harmful effects of narcotics.
During the 11-day journey, the motorcyclists are travelling through key locations, including Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur, before heading towards Gandhinagar in Gujarat. Along the route, participants are engaging with young people and local communities to raise awareness about the risks associated with drugs and encourage healthier lifestyle choices.
The nationwide initiative is scheduled to conclude at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat on October 31. Participants will join the National Unity Day celebrations, linking the campaign against drugs with a broader message of solidarity and collective responsibility.
Drug abuse is not merely a law-and-order concern; it also affects communities, families and the future of young people. The campaign seeks to underline the role of public participation alongside the efforts of security forces in preventing substance abuse and building a healthier society.
Through this initiative, the government aims to strengthen public awareness and encourage citizens to work together towards the goal of a drug-free India.
