New Delhi: Delhi Police successfully reunited a 13-year-old boy with his family within just 50 minutes after finding him wandering alone in the busy Lal Kuan market. Acting swiftly under Operation Milap, the Hauz Qazi police team provided assistance to the distressed child and traced his relatives through coordinated efforts involving multiple police stations and interstate communication.

Police Personnel Find the Boy Crying in Lal Kuan Market

According to Central District DCP Rohit Rajveer Singh, the incident took place on November 2, when the 13-year-old boy was spotted crying and wandering alone outside Hauz Qazi Police Station in Lal Kuan market.

During routine patrolling, Head Constable Rahul and Woman Constable Nidhi noticed the child. They immediately approached him, comforted him, arranged food and refreshments, and brought him safely to the police station.

How Did Police Trace the Boy's Family So Quickly?

Considering the sensitivity of the situation, a special team was formed under the leadership of Station House Officer Amarendra Kumar Suman and the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kamla Market, Rajiv Bhardwaj.

The team comprised Head Constables Rahul and Pankaj, along with Woman Constable Nidhi. Police contacted the Chandni Mahal, Kamla Market, Daryaganj, Lahori Gate and Kotwali police stations. CCTV footage from nearby areas was also examined, while Aman Committee members and Resident Welfare Association (RWA) groups helped circulate information about the missing child.

Interstate Coordination Leads to Family Reunion

During questioning, the boy revealed that he belonged to Bihar and had travelled to Delhi from Punjab. He had reportedly lost his way at a railway station and eventually reached the Lal Kuan market.

The police contacted Bela Police Station in Sitamarhi district of Bihar to trace his parents. Further efforts led them to establish contact with the boy's brother, who was residing in Jafrabad, Delhi.

Within just 50 minutes of finding the child, the police successfully traced his family. After completing the necessary verification, the boy was safely handed over to his brother.
