Bodies of Woman and Child Discovered in Bed Storage, Horror Case Stuns South Delhi

New Delhi: An incident took place in Sarita Vihar of southeast Delhi on Friday night that shook the entire area. The bodies of 35-year-old Jyoti and her 6-year-old younger daughter were found hidden in a box containing items kept inside the bed in their own house. Both of them died due to strangulation or suffocation. The police have named Deen Dayal, a 35-year-old accountant living in the neighborhood, as the main suspect and he is still absconding.

How did the incident happen?

At around 10:30 pm on Friday night, the police received a call from Ali Vihar area of ​​Sarita Vihar that two dead bodies were found in a house. When the police team reached the spot, things were scattered in the room – clothes, utensils, and belongings everywhere. But surprisingly nothing was missing. After a long search, the police opened the box inside the bed and found the bodies of the mother and daughter. Both were immediately taken to AIIMS Delhi, but the doctors there declared them dead.

What was found in the postmortem?

The post-mortem was conducted on Saturday, in which the cause of death was declared as strangulation and suffocation. That means, first an attempt was made to kill both of them by pressing them, and then perhaps they were hidden in a box.

Who is the main suspect?

The police have considered Deen Dayal, who lives in the same building, as the biggest suspect. It is being said that he is Jyoti's nephew and works as an accountant. He has been missing since the incident. Neighbors Ajay Kumar Giri and Mukesh Kamat told that Jyoti lived with her husband and three children. That night two elder children returned from school and were sitting outside because the door was locked from inside. When the husband reached home between 9 and 9:30 pm, the door did not open. After a long time, when the door was broken, everyone was shocked to see the sight inside.

What is the condition of the family?

Husband and two elder children are safe. The death of the younger daughter and mother has broken the entire family. Police have registered a case of murder under section 103(1) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS).

What are the police doing?

Right now many teams are conducting raids at different places.Police are making efforts to arrest Deen Dayal soon. Police say that there is no angle of theft as no item is missing. This case could be related to kinship or some old rivalry – the investigation is still in the initial stages.

People in the area are now full of fear. One gets goosebumps just thinking about such an incident happening inside the house, in front of children. Hopefully the police will catch the accused soon and the truth will come out.
