New Delhi: Activist Sonam Wangchuk announced today that he would continue his hunger strike until young leaders are granted permission to meet Members of Parliament (MPs) at the Parliament House or are allowed to visit him at the Delhi hospital where he has been admitted.

Wangchuk's wife, Gitanjali Angmo, shared a handwritten message from her husband on social media, in which he expressed solidarity with protesters demonstrating under the banner of the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP). This group is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak issue.

A handwritten note bearing Sonam Wangchuk's signature was shared from his Instagram account. The note reads, "I will continue my hunger strike (Day 23). Witnessing the brutal treatment meted out to the youth protesting peacefully, I have decided to persist with my fast until the young leaders are permitted to meet MPs at the Parliament House or are allowed to meet me here at the hospital."

What is the situation at Jantar Mantar?

Following intense clashes with police and security forces during the march to Parliament, the crowd at Jantar Mantar has begun to swell once more. According to the latest reports, a crowd of approximately 200–250 people has gathered outside the protest site, and slogan-shouting has resumed. Meanwhile, personnel from the Rapid Action Force (RAF) are deployed on high alert to prevent people from entering the protest site, yet the crowd continues to grow.
