New Delhi: Although the 'Cockroach Janata Party' (CJP), which has been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar since June 20, is failing to draw the expected crowd size, a large number of YouTubers and social media influencers are flocking there to create viral content.

Why did the controversy erupt?

Amidst this, a YouTuber made an objectionable statement in his video, prompting many to complain to the Delhi Police and demand action. While expressing support for Abhijit Deepke, the individual threatened to "set the entire Delhi-NCR on fire." His identity remains unconfirmed.
A 15-second video is rapidly going viral on social media. Notably, Abhijit Deepke appears in the clip for a few seconds. The person recording the selfie-style video attempts to speak while resting his hand on Deepke's shoulder, but Deepke walks away before the controversial remark is made. The creator says, "To all my brothers in Greater Noida who are watching this (Deepke and his associates leave as soon as they hear this)... listen, brothers, if there is any trouble whatsoever, you have my full support—in body, mind, and resources. We will set the entire Delhi-NCR ablaze if any harm comes to our brother."

How did netizens react?

Many have shared the video, lodging complaints with the Delhi Police and demanding action. However, there has been no official response from the police so far, nor has the identity of the person who made the video been established. Meanwhile, members of the Cockroach Janata Party have consistently maintained that their movement is entirely peaceful and non-violent, urging attendees to abide by the law.

Why is Sonam Wangchuk in the news?

Sonam Wangchuk, who has been on a hunger strike for 18 days, is currently a major topic of discussion on social media. Consequently, there has been an influx of journalists and YouTubers at Jantar Mantar; many are interviewing Abhijit Deepke, while others are keen to speak with Wangchuk. CJP spokespersons are also constantly surrounded by media cameras. A large number of YouTubers can be seen here as well. Even some food bloggers are making videos about the food being distributed here; they believe that a video from Jantar Mantar—given the current buzz—could garner more views.
