Madhya Pradesh: The Madhya Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (MPBOCW) has reported that a fake YouTube channel has been created using the Board’s name.
This fake channel has been misusing the department’s identity and has also copied and re-uploaded several official MPBOCW videos without permission. Such activity can mislead workers and spread incorrect information.
What Labour Minister Prahlad Singh Patel said?
Labour Minister Prahlad Singh Patel has taken serious note of the issue and directed the department to file complaints with both the Cyber Cell and YouTube. The complaint process is already underway. The Board has clarified that @MPBOCW is the only authentic and official YouTube channel of the department.
Identification of Channels (for public and media reference):
* Official Channel: MPBOCW – Official
* Fake Channel: MPBOCW MADHY PRADESH (@MPBOCW01)

The department stated that the fake channel has been attempting to mislead the public by posting official videos without authorization, which is illegal and can cause confusion among workers.
Positive public response to AI videos and official social media platforms
MPBOCW recently launched AI-based reels and short videos to explain welfare schemes and workers’ rights in a simple and visual format. These videos are receiving strong response from workers across the state. The misuse of these videos by the fake channel has therefore become a matter of concern.

The Board stated that official platforms regularly share information on worker welfare schemes, registration procedures, required documents, education assistance, health and maternity benefits, accident and death support, pensions, important announcements, and helpline details.
The Board has urged all construction workers, contractors, and stakeholders to follow only official sources and stay alert to any fake or misleading information.
