Ratia: An emotional scene depicting Bharat’s meeting with Lord Rama in the forest was staged on Thursday night during the historic Ramlila organised by Shakti Natak Club, Ratia, at the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Gurudwara Ground in Shakti Nagar.

The performance, held on the sixth day of the Ramlila, portrayed the deep bond between Lord Rama and his younger brother Bharat, highlighting the values of sacrifice, duty and devotion.

The programme was attended by Vinod Bansal, president of Shri Ram Ashram Shiv Temple; Prahlad Mittal; and City Police Station in-charge Praveen Kumar as chief guests.

Other prominent attendees included Anil Chugh, Sham Taneja, Sanjay Chugh, Media Club president Bobby Goswami and his team, Immigration Association president Rajan Kakkar, and members of the women's wings of Shri Naina Devi Nagar Committee and Kali Mata Temple Committee, along with other dignitaries.

Bharat Rejects the Throne and Sets Out to Bring Rama Back

The Bharat Milap episode began with Bharat returning to Ayodhya and learning about Lord Rama's exile and the death of King Dasharatha. Deeply distressed by his mother Kaikeyi's decision, Bharat refused to accept the throne and resolved to bring his elder brother back to Ayodhya.

Accompanied by Guru Vashishtha, the queens, ministers and several citizens of Ayodhya, Bharat set out towards Chitrakoot, hoping to persuade Lord Rama to return.

The Ramlila depicted Bharat's determination to bring his elder brother home. However, Lord Rama explained that he had to honour his promise to his father, King Dasharatha, and fulfil the terms of his exile.

He emphasised that obeying his father's command was his duty and that he could not return to Ayodhya before completing his period of exile.

Although Bharat respected his brother's decision, he was deeply saddened by the thought of returning to Ayodhya without him.

Lord Rama’s Sandals Symbolise Bharat’s Devotion

The performance highlighted the greatness of both brothers. While Lord Rama chose to remain in the forest to honour his father's promise, Bharat refused to claim the throne that rightfully belonged to his elder brother.

At the conclusion of the scene, Lord Rama blessed Bharat, who accepted his brother's sandals and prepared to return to Ayodhya with them.

The brothers bowed to each other before parting, creating an emotional atmosphere that conveyed the enduring message of brotherhood, sacrifice and respect for duty.
