Ratia: Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana visited the Ratia grain market on Sunday and interacted with farmers and representatives of farmer organisations to hear their concerns regarding crop procurement.

The minister said the state government was committed to ensuring that every grain of farmers’ produce was purchased in accordance with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s directions. He assured farmers that they would not face unnecessary difficulties even if their actual crop production exceeded the average quantity recorded on the government portal.

What Did the Agriculture Minister Say About Crop Procurement?

Rana said that after returning from his overseas visit, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had prioritised decisions related to crop procurement, stressing that efforts must be made to purchase every grain produced by farmers.

He said the government recognised farmers’ hard work and was committed to ensuring that they could sell their produce without unnecessary obstacles at grain markets.

Farmers Advised to Contact Market Committee Officials

The minister explained that actual crop production in a field may sometimes exceed the average or estimated quantity recorded on the government portal. He assured farmers that they need not panic if such a discrepancy arises.

Farmers whose actual produce exceeds the portal-recorded quantity should contact the secretary of their respective grain market and explain the situation. The matter will be examined, and an appropriate resolution will be pursued according to the rules to facilitate procurement based on actual production.

Government to Address Farmers’ Grievances

During the visit, Rana listened to concerns raised by representatives of farmer organisations and discussed issues related to procurement arrangements.

He said resolving farmers’ problems remained a priority for the state government. Relevant officials would be directed to examine genuine grievances and take necessary action in accordance with the rules to ensure that procurement operations run smoothly.

The minister urged farmers to contact their respective market committee secretaries and concerned officials if they encounter difficulties during the procurement process.
