All schools in Punjab are currently on summer break; however, the State Council for Education Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, has issued fresh guidelines to all District Education Officers (Secondary/Elementary) and school heads to conduct Bimonthly Test-1 for students of classes 6 to 12 for the academic session 2025–26.

As per the official circular, the bimonthly test will be conducted in offline mode from July 10 to July 19, 2025. School heads will be responsible for preparing the date sheet and ensuring the test is conducted in an organised manner at their respective schools.

Test Coverage and Subjects

For classes 6 to 8, the bimonthly tests in Punjabi, English, and Mathematics will cover topics taught in July under the Mission Samarth Scheme. Tests in other subjects will be based on the syllabus taught in April and May.

For classes 9 to 12, regardless of stream, the bimonthly test will be based solely on the April and May syllabus.

Test Format and Evaluation System

The test will carry a total of 20 marks.

Subject teachers will prepare the question papers.

The test must be conducted during the designated subject period.

No test will be held during the periods assigned for Mission Samarth for classes 6 to 8.

Answer sheets must be evaluated and results prepared within 10 days of the test.

Schools must maintain a detailed record of results and answer sheets — organised by subject, class, and student.

School heads have been directed to strictly follow these guidelines, conduct the tests on time, and maintain complete records in the school register.

These instructions aim to ensure structured academic assessment even during the vacation period, reinforcing the state’s commitment to continuous learning and performance tracking.
