Children, parents, and the general public are now set to get relief from the heavy traffic jams that occur outside schools in Punjab during school closing hours. Taking this issue seriously, the administration has taken strict measures. Under the new order, traffic police and PCR (Police Control Room) personnel will now be specially deployed outside schools at the time of school's end, so that traffic can be smoothly regulated.
The city has been divided into eight zones, and one officer has been assigned responsibility for each zone. These officers have been given clear instructions to be physically present outside schools and ensure that no traffic jam occurs during end of the school day. Along with this, parents and vehicle drivers have also been instructed to follow the new guidelines.
The Traffic Department and PCR Unit have been instructed to play an active role during end of the school day. These personnel will be specifically deployed during the time when students are let out, so that traffic can be organized effectively.
To improve the traffic system, the administration has divided the entire city into eight zones. A designated officer has been appointed in each zone who will directly monitor the traffic situation outside schools.
The administration has appealed to students’ parents not to park their vehicles in unauthorized areas outside schools. All parents have been advised to park only in the designated parking zones.
School bus drivers have been instructed to operate their vehicles strictly under the “Safe School Van Policy.” Under this policy, all bus drivers must keep all their vehicle documents updated, and it is mandatory to fully comply with traffic rules.
If any school bus or van is found without the necessary documents, strict action will be taken against them. The traffic police have been directed to conduct surprise inspection drives.
The primary objective of this entire plan is to ensure the safety of students and to eliminate traffic jams that occur during dismissal times.
