Addressing a press conference, Bhagwant Mann said the people of Punjab have delivered a decisive verdict in favor of secularism and development. He stated that voters rejected attempts to divide society and instead chose a government focused on public welfare. Despite intense summer heat, citizens came out in large numbers to participate in the democratic process.
The Chief Minister claimed that the results reflected a complete rejection of the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and BJP by Punjab’s electorate. According to him, even the combined strength of opposition parties failed to challenge AAP’s dominance. He said voters chose performance and governance over negative political campaigns.
Highlighting the performance in his own constituency, Mann said AAP won 19 out of 21 seats in Dhuri. He noted that the result demonstrated growing public trust in the party’s leadership and policies. According to him, support for AAP was visible across both urban and rural regions of Punjab.
Mann credited the victory to welfare measures introduced by the state government. He said initiatives such as free electricity, Aam Aadmi Clinics, improved healthcare services, quality education, and employment opportunities had earned the confidence of the people. The results, he added, showed that voters strongly backed politics focused on tangible work.
The Chief Minister pointed out that AAP has consistently received public support in various elections over the last four years. From panchayat elections and district councils to bypolls and now municipal elections, he said the party’s performance reflected a steady rise in popularity and public confidence throughout Punjab.
Mann described the civic poll results as an important indicator for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections. He claimed that the growing support for AAP suggested that the party was on course to strengthen its position further and potentially surpass its previous electoral achievements in the state.
Thanking voters for the overwhelming mandate, the Chief Minister assured citizens that the government would continue working with greater dedication and humility. He promised that every city, town, and village in Punjab would receive equal attention and development, with no discrimination in the implementation of public welfare initiatives.
