Popular LGBTQ Influencer and Makeup Artist Mad Sandhu Shot Dead in Amritsar

Amritsar: Famous LGBTQ influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu was shot dead in Amritsar, Punjab. On Saturday evening, two unknown assailants riding a bike opened fire on him. After being shot, he was found soaked in blood on the road. He died on the way to the hospital. Police has started the investigation of the matter.

According to the police, the incident happened around 6 pm on Saturday evening. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sirivennela said that two unidentified people opened fire on Mada Sandhu. The police reached the spot and started investigation.

Did the bike-riding attackers open fire on Mad Sandhu?

According to preliminary information, Mad Sandhu was attacked by two unknown people who came on a bike. After being shot, he fell on the road and was seriously injured. He was taken to the hospital for treatment, but his life could not be saved.

The police are trying to identify the attackers along with scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the surrounding areas.

Was responsibility for the murder taken in the social media post?

Shortly after the attack, a post surfaced from a Facebook account named 'Goldy Dhillon', claiming responsibility for the murder. Objectionable allegations were also made in the post about Mad Sandhu.

However, the police have not confirmed this post. Officials say that the claim of responsibility that surfaced on social media has also been made a part of the investigation. Police are trying to find out who is behind the post and whether it really has any connection with the murder.

Who was Mad Sandhu and how did he get recognition?

Mad Sandhu's full name is Madhusudan. She started her career as a stylist and assistant costume designer in the fashion industry of Punjab and Mumbai. After this, his reels and viral videos on social media made him quite popular.

He used to talk openly on topics related to makeup, fashion, lifestyle and film industry. Apart from this, he also expressed his opinion on LGBTQ rights and social issues. He had also acted in some Punjabi films.

Mad Sandhu faced constant trolling and objectionable comments on social media due to his association with the LGBTQ community. Despite this, he used to talk openly about his identity.
In response to trolling, he often said about his identity that "God has made me like this." He also had a large following on social media due to his outspokenness and confidence.

Is this murder connected to another murder that happened last year?

Mad Sandhu's murder has also reminded us of the murder of social media influencer Kamal Kaur Bhabhi in Bathinda last year. Kamal Kaur was murdered in June 2025. According to police investigation, he was allegedly called on the pretext of a fake brand promotion.

In that case, the police had investigated many aspects behind the murder including violence done in the name of morality. However, no direct connection of Mad Sandhu's murder with Kamal Kaur case has come to light yet.

Was there firing in Ludhiana also?

A few hours before the murder of Mad Sandhu, an incident of shooting of a youth was also reported in Mullanpur area of Ludhiana. According to preliminary information, attackers traveling in another car opened fire on a Hyundai i20 car going from Khanjarwal village towards Majri.

In this attack, Ladi Khan, a resident of Bhundri village, received several bullets and died. The other youth present in the car, Rohit alias Billa, escaped by running away from the spot.

Police are investigating many aspects in this case including old rivalry, personal disputes and gang-related angles. At present, no official information has emerged linking the two incidents.
