Noida: A powerful call for women’s safety, a commitment to women’s dignity, and a new flight towards self-reliance! Under the Uttar Pradesh government’s ambitious Mission Shakti 6.0 campaign, Noida witnessed an inspiring display of women’s empowerment that carried the message of safety and awareness to the public. A grand awareness march led by the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate saw the participation of more than 500 girl students, sending a clear message that women are not merely symbols of self-protection but also powerful voices for social change.

The march began at the Government Girls Inter College in Hoshiarpur village, Sector 51. The students carried placards displaying important telephone numbers for women’s safety and emergency services to spread awareness among the public. Women police personnel, teachers, healthcare workers, ASHA workers, Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), Home Guards, and representatives from various departments also participated enthusiastically in the event.

Helpline Numbers Used to Spread the Message of Safety

During the march, people were informed about several important helpline numbers, including 1090 for the Women Power Line, 112 for emergency police assistance, 181 for the women’s helpline, 1098 for child assistance, and 1930 for the cybercrime helpline.

The students conveyed the message that in cases of misconduct, harassment, or cybercrime, people should not remain silent but should contact the relevant helpline for assistance.

Mission Shakti teams from various police stations in the Noida Zone, along with Swayam Siddha teams and Anti-Romeo squads, also participated in the event. The programme prominently highlighted the importance of women’s safety, self-confidence, and public participation.

Women’s Empowerment Gains Momentum Under the Leadership of Police Officials

The campaign, organised under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women’s Safety) Suniti and coordinated by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Manisha Singh, highlighted the police department’s commitment to women’s safety.

Through the march, the public was urged not to ignore any form of misconduct against women and to inform the police immediately whenever necessary.

Organised on the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Navratri, the awareness programme infused fresh energy into the commitment to women’s dignity and safety. The objective of Mission Shakti 6.0 is not only to assure women of their safety but also to make them aware of their rights and encourage them to move towards self-reliance.

The message was clear: “A woman’s dignity defines society, and her safety is everyone’s responsibility!”

The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate reaffirmed its commitment to empowering women and girls through similar awareness programmes in the future.
