Mathura: Cyber crimes are constantly emerging in new forms. Consequently, even a minor lapse during digital transactions can inflict significant financial loss on individuals. To address this, a cybersecurity awareness workshop was organized on Tuesday at the Panchjanya Auditorium in Dampier Nagar. More than a thousand people—including police officials, lawyers, traders, students, and members of various sections of society—attended the workshop to learn how to protect themselves against cyber crimes.

Presided over by Additional Director General of Police (Agra Zone) SK Bhagat, the workshop featured cyber security expert Dr. Rakshit Tandon as the keynote speaker. He apprised participants of the evolving methods used in cyber fraud, explaining how fraudsters ensnare people through fake links, calls, messages, social media accounts, and digital payment platforms. He emphasized that awareness and vigilance are the best defenses against such incidents.

He advised participants never to share OTPs, passwords, banking details, or other confidential information with anyone during digital transactions. He also urged them to avoid clicking on unknown links, downloading suspicious apps, or falling prey to messages offering tempting deals. Participants were informed that in the event of a cyber crime, filing an immediate complaint is crucial to increase the chances of freezing the funds and taking timely action.

The workshop was attended by DIG Shailesh Kumar Pandey and SSP Shlok Kumar, along with District Judge Vikas Kumar, the Chief Judicial Magistrate, prosecution officers, and police personnel from various stations. Office bearers and members of trade associations and bar associations, as well as a large number of school students, also participated. Experts answered participants' queries and provided practical tips for staying safe in the digital world.
