CM Yogi Adityanath Bans Open Prayers and Public Animal Sacrifice Ahead of Bakrid

Lucknow: Preparations for Eid-ul-Azha (Bakrid) are in full swing across the country. Meanwhile, UP CM Yogi Adityanath has adopted a strict stance before the festival. In the high level meeting held on Sunday, CM Yogi ordered DMs and police officers of all the districts to remain alert. It was clearly said that there will be no relaxation in law and order on Bakrid.

What did CM say on open namaz and sacrifice?

Yogi has bluntly said that on the day of Bakrid, there will be neither open namaz nor sacrifice on the road. Namaz will be offered only inside the mosque. Under no circumstances will Namaz be allowed on the road, ground or open space. CM said that blocking the way for Namaz will not be tolerated. If there are more namazis, then offer namaz in shifts, but the road should remain empty.

What is the guideline regarding sacrifice?

There is also strictness on sacrifice. CM said that no sacrifice will take place in the open. Absolutely will not allow the sacrifice of banned animals.  Also instructed that filth should not spread after the sacrifice. Where there is sacrifice, complete arrangements for cleanliness should be made. Blood, remains or garbage should not be visible on the road.

What will be the security arrangements?

Yogi told the officers to keep a close watch on the mischievous elements. Heavy police force should be deployed at Eidgahs and sensitive places. There will also be surveillance through CCTV and drones. Orders have been given to keep vigil at every nook and corner in sensitive areas so that no one can spoil the atmosphere.

  • Namaz will be held only inside the mosque premises.
  • Namaz will not be offered in the open under any circumstances.
  • Road will not be blocked for Namaz.
  • If there is a large crowd, offer namaz in shifts.
  • There will be no sacrifice of any kind in the open. 
  • Sacrifice of banned animals is strictly prohibited. 
  • Do not spread filth after sacrifice, maintain cleanliness.  
  • A close watch should be kept on the miscreants.
  • Police forces remain deployed at Eidgahs.
  • Sensitive areas should be monitored through CCTV and drones.
