Ayodhya: Following a recommendation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), an FIR has been registered at the Ram Janmabhoomi police station regarding the theft of offerings meant for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The FIR was lodged on behalf of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. While the SIT had been investigating the matter previously, the police have intensified their action following the registration of the FIR.

What action did the police take?

The police have taken significant action in the Ram Mandir donation theft case, detaining eight individuals. They have been identified as Ramashankar Yadav 'Tinnu', Anukalp Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Karunesh Pandey, Lavkush Mishra, Rama Shankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava, and Manish Yadav. The names of the accused from whom the donation money was recovered have been recorded in the FIR. In total, eight people have been detained. Investigative agencies believe that others may also be involved, suggesting that the scope of arrests could expand in the coming days.

Did SIT Investigate the Ram Mandir Donation Theft?

It is worth noting that the SIT constituted to probe the Ram Mandir donation theft case has completed its investigation and submitted its report to the government. The government had formed a three-member SIT at the request of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The SIT camped in Ayodhya for six days to conduct the investigation, during which time Trust officials and members underwent intensive questioning. The administration will now make a decision regarding the next steps based on the report.
