Vrindavan: A 67-year-old man died after falling from the 14th floor of Sanskar City Housing Society in the Rukmani Vihar area on Sunday morning. The incident caused panic among residents, while the victim's family was left devastated.

The deceased, identified as Ashok Kapoor, was a resident of Delhi's Dilshad Garden. He had been living with his wife, Sonia, at Paras Pride Society in Rukmani Vihar for the past eight months. Police reached the spot after receiving information, inspected the premises and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

What Happened Before the Incident?

According to the available information, Ashok left home on Sunday morning after telling his wife that he was going for a walk. He subsequently reached the nearby Sanskar City Society and took the lift to the 14th floor to visit an acquaintance, Mahendra Manocha, who lived there.

However, instead of reaching the apartment, Ashok reportedly fell from a balcony. The circumstances surrounding the fall remain unclear, and police have begun investigating the incident.

Family and Police Await Clarity

Ashok's wife, Sonia, was devastated when she learned about her husband's death. Family members told police that he had reportedly been undergoing treatment for depression for around four years.

He is survived by a son and a daughter. His son, Parikshit Kapoor, works as a lawyer in Delhi. Police have recorded information from family members and are examining the circumstances that led to the incident.

A Recent Celebration Turns into a Tragic Memory

Ashok was known to be sociable and had developed a friendship with Mahendra Manocha after meeting him during a visit to the temple at Paras Pride Society. The two families also shared cordial relations.

Mahendra recalled that Ashok and his wife had visited his apartment just four days earlier to participate in the Karwa Chauth pooja. Both families had celebrated the occasion together, making the sudden tragedy particularly difficult to comprehend for those who knew him.

Police are continuing their investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding Ashok's death.
