Vrindavan: A tragic incident has occurred outside the ISKCON temple in Vrindavan, Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. A 21-year-old man from Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, reportedly died after suffering an electric shock. The family is devastated by the tragedy. A heart-wrenching video from the hospital following the incident has moved people deeply; in the viral clip, the father is seen weeping and pleading with his son, "Wake up, son; Papa is calling you." The scene brought tears to the eyes of those present.
The deceased has been identified as Abhigyan Gupta. He had come to Vrindavan on a religious pilgrimage with his family. According to relatives, the family arrived at the ISKCON temple on Monday morning after visiting the Shri Banke Bihari Temple. The police have launched an investigation into the matter.
The deceased's father, Amit Gupta, stated that the family had deposited their footwear at a counter before entering the temple premises. As they were walking towards the temple, Abhigyan came into contact with a cooler placed outside and suffered a severe electric shock.
According to the father, he also received a shock while trying to save his son, causing both of them to fall to the ground. He alleged that the cooler had been installed by the Municipal Corporation and that the accident occurred due to an electrical leakage in the unit.
Immediately after the incident, Abhigyan was rushed to the District Hospital in Vrindavan for treatment. However, doctors declared him dead after examination. Hospital authorities stated that necessary medical interventions, including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), were attempted to save the young man, but his life could not be saved.
Dr. Vineet Yadav, Medical Superintendent of the District Hospital, confirmed that the young man was brought to the hospital after suffering an electric shock. Doctors made every effort to save him but were unsuccessful. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Officials stated that they are probing the circumstances surrounding the incident and how the cooler became electrically charged. Further action will be taken after the investigation report is received.
