Lucknow: Mulayam Singh Yadav's younger son, Prateek Yadav is no more with us. His health suddenly deteriorated on Wednesday morning, after that, his family took him to Lucknow Civil Hospital, but the doctors there declared him dead. As soon as the news was heard, there was silence among the family and close ones.

It is still not clear what happened. The initial police investigation has revealed consumption of poisonous substance, but nothing can be said for sure until the post-mortem report comes. Investigation is ongoing.

Why did Prateek Yadav stay away from politics?

This question used to come to the minds of many people. Father Mulayam Singh Yadav, brother Akhilesh Yadav's politics are everywhere in the house. But Prateek had no attachment to all this.
His world was different. He had many gyms in Lucknow, fitness was his passion. People knew him not as the leader's brother, but as a fitness trainer and businessman. Very few were visible even on social media. No big statements, no rallies; he was just enjoying life.

Was there ever any discussion about entering politics?

There definitely came an occasion when his name cropped up in politics. It was the year 2012, some SP workers raised the demand that Prateek should be fielded from Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat. Sadhana Gupta i.e. his mother and uncle Shivpal Yadav also gave vent to this matter.
But Pratik himself never came forward. The ticket was not found and the matter died down there. Maybe even he himself didn't want it.

What was the impact on family and close people?

Prateek was the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Sadhna Gupta. His wife is BJP leader Aparna Yadav. There was already sadness in the house about Mulayam Singh's departure, and now this news has brought a mountain of sorrow on the family.

People who knew Prateek say that he was a very simple and calm person. He never gave trouble to anyone, always minded his own business. It is difficult to believe such a person leaving so suddenly.
