Lucknow: Police have intensified investigation into the death of businessman and cafe operator Shiva Sharma under suspicious circumstances. Police have announced a reward for the arrest of model and social media influencer Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and their assistant driver who have been made accused in the case. A reward of Rs 25-25 thousand has been kept on all three. Police are raiding different places in search of them. The possible locations, mobile call details and contacts of the accused are also being investigated in the investigation. Police suspect that after the incident the accused had sought help from some acquaintances. However, the role of a person as a facilitator can be confirmed only after investigation.
According to the police, several teams have been formed to search for Shraddha Dubey, her sister Rashmi and the driver. Apart from Lucknow, investigations are also being done in the surrounding districts and areas bordering Nepal. According to media reports, clues related to the possible movement of the two sisters have been found towards Gorakhpur and Bahraich. In some reports, there is a possibility of seeing them near the India-Nepal border. Information about increased surveillance on the border has also come to light. The police are currently busy finding the whereabouts of the accused and connecting the links of their activities.
During the investigation, the police are examining the call details of Shraddha and her sister's mobile phones. According to the published report, about 20 mobile numbers have been isolated for investigation. It is suspected that these numbers were contacted after the incident. Police are trying to find out who the accused talked to, whether they got help in hiding somewhere or getting out of the city and whether anyone provided them information or resources. There have also been reports of some suspects being interrogated in this connection. However, a person cannot be considered involved in a crime merely on the basis of phone conversation.
According to reports, an audio related to the dispute and alleged threats between Shraddha and Shiva has been circulated on social media. In this, it is being said that Shiva was allegedly threatened to implicate her in a false case. However, the concerned media organisation has also not independently verified the audio. In such a situation, it is necessary to check its authenticity, context of the recording and identity of the voice. If the police use this recording as evidence, its forensic investigation and matching with other evidence will be important.
Shiva Sharma died on October 9 after falling from the fourth floor of Awadh Green Apartment in Balu Adda, Lucknow. He was involved in café and business and was living in a live-in relationship with Shraddha Dubey. Shiva's mother Ranjana Sharma has accused Shraddha, her sister and others of murder, torture and threatening. The family suspects that Shiva was thrown from the apartment. Police are examining CCTV footage, mobile chats and other evidence. At present these allegations have not been judicially confirmed.
In the reports related to the investigation, it has been said that Shraddha has contact with some businessmen, builders and other famous people. Police are investigating the alleged contacts and aspects of possible help. Some reports also mention alleged links to people with criminal backgrounds, but these claims cannot be seen as a conclusion to the investigation at this time. The main objective of the police is to trace the accused, understand the sequence of activities before and after the incident and reach the real reasons for Shiva's death.
The police are taking forward the investigation by combining digital evidence, CCTV footage and statements of the concerned persons along with the search for the absconding accused. After the arrest of Shraddha, Rashmi and the driver, it is expected that answers to many questions related to the incident will be found.
At the same time, confirmation of aspects like alleged audio, old disputes and financial transactions can also be part of the investigation. At present, the final conclusion in the case will come only after investigation and court process.
