UP STF Guns Down Notorious Gangster Asif Carrying Rs 1 Lakh Reward In Encounter

Ambedkar Nagar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police early on Tuesday morning gunned down notorious gangster Asif Ali alias Vicky, who carried a bounty of Rs 1 lakh, during an encounter in Ambedkar Nagar district, officials said.

The UP Special Task Force (STF) killed Kanpur's notorious criminal, Asif, in an encounter in Ambedkar Nagar. Asif was carrying a bounty of Rs 1 lakh. An STF constable was also injured in the encounter. The injured constable has been admitted to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

The deceased criminal has been identified as Asif Ali, a resident of Kanpur. More than two dozen serious criminal cases were registered against the him in various districts. The encounter between the STF and the criminal took place near Jagdishpur in the Bewana police station area.

What did the police say?

The UP Special Task Force surrounded Asif at 4 am on Tuesday, acting on a tip-off from an informant. Finding himself cornered, he opened fire on the police team. He was killed in retaliatory fire. The encounter took place near Jagdishpur village, 25 km from the district headquarters.

According to Rajkumar Mishra, Additional Superintendent of Police, Noida Special Task Force (STF), Asif committed a house robbery in Jaunpur in 2014, killing two people. He also attacked three others, but they survived. According to reports, Asif was the leader of the Chhymar gang.
