Vrindavan Teenager Death Case: CCTV Footage Reveals New Details, Mystery Remains Unsolved

Vrindavan: The case involving the death of a teenager under suspicious circumstances at the Hare Krishna Orchid Society, located on Sunrakh Road, remains unresolved. Following the death of Raj Gautam—who fell from the sixth floor—the police are working to piece together the sequence of events using footage from the society’s CCTV cameras. Initial investigations show the teenager appearing alone; however, his activities from the moment he entered the society until his death remain unclear.

According to the police, Raj Gautam died on Saturday evening after falling from the sixth floor of one of the society’s towers. His father, Yogesh Gautam, works as a driver for the Industrial Security Force at the Mathura Refinery. Just a day before the incident, Raj had arrived at the society with his mother and sister to visit his uncle (his mother’s sister’s husband). What was intended to be a visit turned into a tragic event for the family. Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene, sent the body for a post-mortem, and initiated an investigation.

CCTV footage reviewed during the investigation shows Raj entering the society premises at 5:05 PM. A few minutes later, he is seen passing by the elevator in Tower B. Approximately 12 minutes after that, reports emerged of him falling from a height. Where Raj went during those 12 minutes and what transpired remains a subject of investigation. The police are facing difficulties in reconstructing the sequence of events, partly because footage from another camera in the society is unclear. Consequently, all available CCTV footage is being examined in minute detail.

Station House Officer (SHO) Ashwini Kumar stated that the post-mortem report has not revealed anything suspicious so far. Injuries found on parts of his body appear, prima facie, to be consistent with a fall from a height. He noted that, based on the CCTV footage reviewed to date, the teenager appears to have been alone. The police are currently investigating all aspects related to the incident. However, the circumstances under which the teenager died will only become clear once the investigation is complete.
