New Delhi:  If you are using the new Aadhaar app, then there is good news for you. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is going to launch the full version of the Aadhaar app on 28 January 2026. UIDAI itself has shared this information on social media platform X. According to the authority, many important features present in the app that users are currently using will become active after January 28.

The thing that has been emphasized the most in UIDAI's post is that after the launch of the full version, people will not need to carry a physical copy of the Aadhaar card. For identity verification, check-in and verification can now be done easily through a mobile phone at a hotel, guest house, office, or any other place. This means that the process related to Aadhaar will become much simpler and more secure than before.

What will be special in the Aadhaar App Full Version?

The government was preparing to make the Aadhaar app more useful for a long time. Now its effect can be clearly seen in the full version. The biggest change will be that users will now be able to verify the Aadhaar of another person through the app. Till now the use of the app was mainly limited to sharing one's Aadhaar or showing Aadhaar through a QR code.

How will the verification process be made easy?

Till now there was no easy and quick way to check the validity of the other person's Aadhaar. After the full version is released, Aadhaar verification may be possible by scanning the QR code. This will make the process of identity verification at hotels, offices, events, or other places faster and without sharing much information. UIDAI says that the purpose of this change is to simplify identity verification and not to share unnecessary personal information.

Why has emphasis been given to privacy?

UIDAI has clearly stated in its post that identity verification will now be limited to identity only. Meaning, the other person will not see more personal details than necessary. This change has been made keeping in mind the privacy of the users.

Will users be able to make changes in Aadhaar?

Some new self-service features are also expected to be available in the full version. It is believed that after the update, users will be able to update their address in Aadhaar. Apart from this, the option to update the mobile number can also be added to the app. Currently, the facility to update name and email is not available in the app, but it is expected that these features will also be included in the full version.

What will change for users?

The full version of the Aadhaar app will be especially beneficial for those who travel frequently or where identity verification is necessary. Eliminating the need for physical cards will not only increase convenience but will also strengthen security and privacy. Overall, the full version of the Aadhaar app from January 28, 2026, is going to give a new and easier look to digital identity.
