The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the period of free service to update Aadhaar. Earlier this service was limited to 31 March 2025, which has now been extended till 31 December 2025. This means that Aadhaar holders can update information like name, address, date of birth, mobile number without any fees.
According to UIDAI, information like photo, address, name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, email in Aadhaar card can be updated for free. This will help users to improve the wrong or old information of Aadhaar, which is necessary in banking, government schemes and other services.
For Aadhaar update, users can apply by visiting the official website of UIDAI or the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. For online updates, users will have to get OTP verification from their mobile number. At the same time, it is mandatory to go to the center for biometric or photo update.
