Tech News:  Airtel has once again given a big shock to prepaid users, after discontinuing the Rs 249 plan, now the company has reduced the data limit available in the cheap recharge plan of Rs 195. This plan is most liked by those people who buy a separate data voucher after the data available in the existing plan is exhausted. Airtel 195 Plan Details

Earlier, the company used to provide 15 GB high speed data with the Rs 195 plan, but now with this plan you will be given the benefit of only 12 GB data. Apart from this, this plan also used to offer the benefit of Jio Hotstar OTT for 90 days, but now the OTT benefit has also been reduced to only 30 days.

Airtel Targets Higher ARPU

Due to this decision of Airtel, this plan has now become even more expensive for the users, but the company has taken this decision to increase the average revenue per user (ARPU). At the end of the first quarter of FY 2026, Airtel's ARPU was Rs 250 and the company's next target is to achieve ARPU of Rs 300 and this will not be possible without increasing the tariff.

Airtel Discontinues Prepaid Plan

Airtel has recently discontinued the Rs 249 prepaid plan, with this plan the company used to give 1 GB high speed data every day to the prepaid users. With a validity of 24 days, this plan also offered the benefit of 100 SMS per day, Perplexity Pro AI, free extreme play and free hellotune. But now after the discontinuation of this plan, users are left with the option of the Rs 299 plan.
