Beijing: For the past few years, China has consistently maintained a leading position in robot manufacturing. It is now poised to set new records. ENGINEAI, a Chinese robotics company, has taken a significant step toward mass-producing robots. It has inaugurated a new factory dedicated to manufacturing humanoid robots—robots designed to resemble humans—where one robot will be completed every 15 minutes. The new facility has been established in Shenzhen, where large-scale mass production is set to commence shortly. According to reports, the first batch of T800 humanoid robots has already been completed at the new factory. The T800 series consists of robots specifically designed for use in heavy-duty tasks.

According to a report by *Interesting Engineering*, China is continuously increasing its investment in the fields of robotics and automated manufacturing. The company has stated that the new factory has been designed to facilitate rapid delivery of robots and to expedite their market launch.

A New Challenge for India?

China is surging far ahead in the field of robot manufacturing. It is currently producing a greater number of robots than even the United States. India, however, currently lags behind in this sector. The robots currently being manufactured in India are less technologically advanced and have not yet reached a standard capable of fully meeting domestic requirements. Following the smartphone industry, this marks the next major sector in which China is rapidly expanding its footprint.

ENGINEAI's new robot factory spans an area of 129,000 square feet. This facility handles every aspect of the process—from the assembly, testing, and packaging of robots to their servicing.

High-Speed Production: According to reports, thanks to its highly optimized systems, the factory is capable of completing one humanoid robot every 15 minutes.
Emphasis on Quality Testing: China is committed to maintaining high quality standards for its robots. At the new factory, robots are dispatched for delivery only after undergoing 79 quality checks and 46 simulation tests.

What are the types of robots?

The company intends to manufacture a comprehensive range of robots at its new facility. Currently, it is producing robots designed specifically for inspection tasks.

ENGINEAI was established in October 2023. In just three years, the company has achieved a rapid pace of growth. In addition to four-legged robots, the company is capable of manufacturing bipedal, humanoid robots. Prominent among these is the T800 robot—the company's flagship humanoid model, designed for use in heavy-duty applications. The product lineup also includes the PM01 humanoid robot, the lightweight SA02 robot, and the four-legged JS01 robot. At its new facility in Shenzhen, the company has set a production target of 10,000 robots.

ENGINEAI aims to supply its robots to global markets beyond China; to this end, the company is currently preparing to establish a Global Smart Manufacturing Headquarters in the city of Zhengzhou. Plans are also underway to set up a new factory at this location, with the capacity to produce an additional 10,000 robot units.
