New Delhi: There's good news for iPhone fans. If you've been eagerly awaiting the new iPhone Pro models and are curious about their pricing, this news is especially for you. A report claims that the new iPhone 18 Pro models will be priced the same as the previous models. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could launch in September this year, along with Apple's first foldable iPhone, the Fold.
A recent leak revealed potential specifications for the iPhone 18 Pro models. Now, a prominent analyst has reportedly hinted that despite reports of rising memory and other component prices, Apple will maintain the current pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. This claim aligns with previous estimates by TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
A research note by Jeff Pu of Haitong International Tech Research, seen by MacRumors, provides pricing information for the iPhone 18 Pro series. Apple is reportedly aiming to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max at the same starting prices as the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Recent supply chain research by a market research firm suggests that Apple is focusing on cost management, attempting to keep the starting prices of the iPhone 18 Pro models unchanged or at the same level as their predecessors.
In the US, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 (approximately ₹99,000), while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 (approximately ₹108,000). In India, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at ₹134,900, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at ₹149,900. If Pu's claim proves true, the iPhone 18 Pro models could be priced around the same.
Furthermore, Pu reportedly said that Apple is in talks with Samsung and SK Hynix to secure the best memory chip deals amid rising DRAM and NAND storage costs. He hopes the Cupertino company will find further ways to reduce costs on essential components like displays and camera modules.
Pu's new claims echo earlier claims by TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The analyst stated that Apple would avoid raising the price of the iPhone 18 as much as possible. Rumors had suggested that Apple would raise the prices of its upcoming iPhone models due to skyrocketing component prices.
The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to feature a telephoto extender lens and the 2nm A20 Pro chip. The Chinese variant of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is said to have a 5,000mAh battery, while the global variant could feature a larger battery, between 5,100mAh and 5,200mAh. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to arrive in September alongside the iPhone Fold. The standard iPhone 18 could launch alongside the iPhone Air 2 next year.
