New Delhi: Meta-owned social media platform Instagram on Wednesday experienced a brief outage, leaving several users, mainly in the United States, unable to send messages and connect with their friends. According to outage-tracking website Downdetector, reports of complaints went up sharply around 7 am.
Users of Instagram, are facing disruptions on sending messages, connection issue, and some people are not able access the app.

According to media reports, about 71 per cent users have reported problems accessing the app, while 20 per cent reported server connection issues. The remaining 5 per cent users complained facing issues with their Instagram feed/timeline.
According to the outage-tracking website Downdetector, reports of problems peaked at around 7:30 am, when over 10,000 users in United States raised issues regarding not able to send messages to other people. And about 250 users in India also flagged similar problems.
The users said that they are not able load old chats, with the Instagram message saying can't reach out to person.
Till now, Instagram has not issued an official statement on the problem. In past outages, the company has typically said it is aware of issues and working on a fix, but no word has come out yet for this incident.
For now, affected users can try refreshing their browsers, logging out and back in until the problem is resolved.
