At Google I/O 2023, the search giant’s CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the chatbot will now be available in more than 180 countries including India. Google Bard and OpenAI’s ChatGPT are direct competitors. Google Bard has been finally introduced in India. Interested users can access the chatbot via the Google Bard official website.
The tech giant’s chatbot has also featured a host of new updates in the updated version of the tool in the competition of AI tools. The launch has been done during the much-anticipated Google I/O event on Wednesday at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. The announcement has been made by the tech giant keeping focus on Artificial Intelligence.
Initially, Google Bard was available only in US and UK. Users in India were unable to join the waitlist to use Bard, but now access has been given to 180 countries, including India. The Google Bard AI chatbot can be accessed through bard.google.com. According to the tech giant, the user will be told that the chatbot is still being tested but after that user will also get the option of ‘Try Bard’. You can follow these steps to use the service.
Users can visit the page, https://bard.google.com. Where they will get informed that the bot is still in the beta stage. At the bottom right corner of the website, choose the option ‘Try me.’ Select ‘I agree’ at the bottom to give consent to Bard’s privacy policy. The chatbot can be tried out for free without the hassle of a waitlist.
As per sources, one of the biggest differences in Google Bard and other AI chatbots are, that Bard will stay updated with the latest developments. Whereas, ChatGPT has been trained only on data limited till September 2021. Bard will also be able to cite resources if it picks huge amount of data from a single web page.
Bard also offers multiple drafts for a single question being asked. The user can scroll through different options before choosing one. Unlike ChatGPT, Google Bard provides the entire response in one go. On the other hand, ChatGPT follows a more natural way of typing out the answer. As more updates start rolling out, both platforms are expected to build on their niche.
