New Delhi: The principal of a private school in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, married a 28-year-old female teacher in Nepal, sparking tension in the area. The principal is said to be 60 years old. Photos and videos of the wedding went viral on social media, and the news spread like wildfire throughout the area. This incident reminded people of Matuknath, a renowned Bihar professor who married his own college student, Julie.
According to reports, school owner and principal Rakesh Sah, a father of four, married Shaista Parveen, a teacher at his own school, in Janakpur, Nepal, on February 18.
Following the wedding, the woman's brother filed a complaint at the Aurai police station, alleging that his sister had been kidnapped and forced into marriage. Seven people, including Rakesh Sah, his wife, and daughter, have been named in the complaint. The brother also expressed fears that something untoward might happen to his sister.
Meanwhile, in a video released on social media, Shaista Parveen claimed that she married of her own free will. In the video, she stated that she was safe and not under any pressure. She also stated that the marriage took place with mutual consent in 2025.
Tension has gripped the village since the incident surfaced. Anticipating potential tension between the two communities, the police have intensified the investigation as a precaution. Aurai Police Station Officer Ranwar Parveen stated that the mobile phones of three of the named accused have been seized and their call details are being examined, and the entire case is being investigated thoroughly. It is currently unclear whether the case is a case of love marriage or coercion. The truth will only be revealed after a police investigation.
