Beijing: Chinese social media influencer Zhou Yuan had been conducting courses on love and relationships for women for several years. She taught women how to attract men and offered a variety of courses for this purpose. The fees for these courses ran into the millions of yuan.
However, authorities have now launched an investigation into her activities, and Yuan has been ordered to cease all operations. She had reportedly earned more than 300 million yuan from this business.
Zhou's flagship course cost 88,000 yuan, or approximately 1.2 million rupees. Some reports suggest the fee was as high as 100,000 yuan. She offered both online and offline courses, with varying fees.
Thousands of women paid for these courses, allowing Zhou to earn between 24 and 27 million yuan, or approximately 310 million rupees. Critics of Zhou claim that she is treating women as tools, objects that men use for their own pleasure.
Zhou has denied the allegations against her. She maintains that sexual intelligence empowers women, allowing them to take an active role in intimate relationships.
