New Delhi: Often people think that going abroad and driving a taxi or cab is the easiest way of earning. This thinking is even stronger, especially in countries like Australia. But a video going viral on social media has shown the other side of this picture.
This video has been shared by Indian content creator Tushar Bareja, living in Melbourne. He drove Uber the whole day with the camera on, and whatever happened, he showed it to the people without hiding it. His only aim was to make people understand how easy or difficult this task actually is.
Tushar says that on the day of the challenge he had to wake up at around 4 in the morning. He did not sleep properly at night, but still he set out early in the hope of getting a good ride. He says that from outside this work seems easy, but driving continuously for hours tires both the body and mind.
His first ride was to the airport, which earned him about $47. After this, gradually more passengers were received. By 7 in the morning his earnings had reached about $100. Meanwhile, petrol also had to be filled in the car, the expense of which was added separately.
Tushar had thought that he would drive Uber for the full 12 hours, but after 10 hours his condition worsened. Continuous sitting and driving, traffic and talking to customers left him completely exhausted. Ultimately he stopped the work considering his health.
After about 10 hours of hard work, his total earning was 330 dollars, which is around 30 thousand in Indian rupees. However, it does not include petrol, car maintenance and other expenses. That means the real savings remain less than this.
Tushar has shared this video on Instagram with the handle @tusharbareja23, which has been viewed by more than 5 million people so far. Many people are saying that the earning is not much considering the amount of hard work, while some believe that it is still a decent amount of money.
