Miracle on the slope: Woman narrowly escapes death as truck rolls down

A woman miraculously survived a tragic accident on the road to Kozhikode Medical College in Kerala. The incident took place when a brick-laden truck rammed into his scooty while rolling backwards on a slope. The accident took place at around 7:30 am on the uphill portion near the CWRDM between Peringalam Town and the Medical College. The woman, identified as Aswathy, a resident of Ozhayadi, was walking behind the truck on her red coloured scooty. Suddenly, the truck lost control and started rolling sharply backwards. Aswathy tried to pull back the scooty, but it was too late.

Woman's life narrowly escaped

The CCTV footage clearly shows that the truck, which was stopped on the slope, suddenly starts rolling backwards. As soon as Aswathy understood the situation, he tried to reverse the scooty, but the speed of the truck did not give him a chance to recover. She fell on the road after being hit by the truck and the wheel of the truck went ahead crushing her scooty.

Miraculously, the truck could not run over the woman by a few inches and she fell to one side. People in the vicinity rushed to the spot after hearing the loud bang and rushed the woman to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, he sustained only minor injuries and is out of danger.

Police investigating the accident

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and a case has been registered. In the initial investigation, there is a possibility of a technical fault in the brake system of the truck. A technical test of the truck is being conducted to ascertain the exact reason behind brake failure, the police officer said.

A CCTV video of the incident has gone viral on social media. People are calling it a second life and are wondering at the fate of Ashwathi. It can be clearly seen in the video how Maut tried to get out by touching the woman from a distance of a few inches, but she survived.

One such shocking incident took place in Telangana last year, where a woman was lying on a railway track and a goods train ran over her. In the video, the woman was seen completely stationary between the tracks and did not even get a scratch despite the train passing.
