Prayagraj: Many parts of India are reeling under heatwave conditions, amongst them is Uttar Pradesh. The temperature in the state has been soaring to 46 degrees Celsius for the last few days and the IMD has also issued widespread heatwave and severe heatwave warnings across northwest and central India.

What is there in the video?

Amid such harsh summer conditions, it is tough for people to go out of their homes. Recently a man, named Faiz, conducted an experiment at his home that showed how hot the weather is. The man cooked an omelette without using gas cylinder on the terrace of his home and posted a video of the experiment on his Instagram account.

In the video, man can be seen pouring mustard oil on his rooftop and then breaking an egg that he kept on his terrace in the scorching heat.

The video, which was posted on May 19 and has received more than 3.5 million views, was posted with the caption, "High Alert The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued widespread heatwave and severe heatwave warnings for today, May 19, 2026, across northwest and central India. Several states are under specific alerts due to temperatures reaching or exceeding 45°C."

Has IMD issued alert?

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has already warned that there's little hope of relief for the next few days. A red alert for a heatwave has been issued in cities like Prayagraj, Agra, and Jhansi. Temperatures are soaring above 48 degrees Celsius, directly impacting health. People on social media are jokingly saying, "Now there's no need to fear the rising gas prices; just place a pan on the rooftop and breakfast is ready."

How are people reacting?

This viral video is spreading like wildfire on Instagram. Some are calling it nature's fury, while others are calling it a "trailer" of the summer heat. People are saying, "This is the level of heat, going outside could prove fatal." This video isn't just entertainment, but also a stark warning not to take this intense heat lightly.
