Diwali 2025: Ayodhya Set for a Record-Breaking Deepotsav

Ayodhya saw 23.82 crore visitors between January and June 2025. The city is preparing to host Deepotsav 2025, expected to draw even more pilgrims. Both domestic and international tourists are visiting in large numbers.

Visitor numbers in Ayodhya have grown steadily over the years. From 1.78 crore in 2017, tourism has seen a remarkable rise, reaching 16.44 crore in 2024, and is on track to break new records this year with tens of thousands of foreign tourists also visiting.

Modern infrastructure has played a key role in boosting Ayodhya’s appeal. The city now boasts new four- and six-lane highways, a world-class airport, and a modernized railway station, making it a convenient and attractive destination for pilgrims and tourists alike.

4. Deepotsav 2025 Preparations
The city is gearing up for a historic Deepotsav this year with the support of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University and local administration. Around 33,000 volunteers will participate to light 26 lakh diyas, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record.

5. Spectacular Lamp River Displays
Over 2,000 volunteers will manage elaborate lamp displays across 56 ghats on the Saryu River. Visitors will witness stunning decorations, including an 80,000-diya Swastika symbol, creating a mesmerizing spectacle of light and devotion.
