New Delhi: MG Motor India is set to strengthen its SUV lineup. The company will soon launch its new full-size SUV, the MG Majestor, in India. The official launch date has been set for February 12, 2026. This SUV will be positioned above the MG Gloster in the company's portfolio. Let's take a closer look at its features.
The MG Majestor was first showcased in India during the 2025 Auto Expo. Now, as the first major launch of the new year, MG is set to introduce this SUV to the Indian market.
The MG Majestor is essentially a badge-engineered version of the Maxus D90 SUV sold in the international market. While its base platform is derived from the MG Gloster, it has been made more premium in terms of design and features.
The MG Majestor is expected to feature the same reliable 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine found in the Gloster. This engine is capable of generating 213 bhp of power and 478 Nm of torque. It comes with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. A 4x4 (all-wheel drive) system is also included. This SUV is expected to be excellent for both off-roading and long highway drives.
To differentiate the MG Majestor from the Gloster, several changes have been made to its exterior. These include a new blacked-out grille, vertically designed headlamps, sleek LED DRLs, new alloy wheels, refreshed skid plates, and new LED taillamps and a light bar. Dual exhaust tips and side running boards are also present.
The MG Majestor is expected to offer several advanced features befitting a premium segment vehicle. This SUV will likely include features such as a panoramic sunroof, a new fully digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), a wireless charger, and 3-zone climate control.
After its launch in India, the MG Majester could compete with premium SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Meridian.
