New Delhi: Harley-Davidson's new bike, the X350T, has been spotted testing in India without any camouflage. Interestingly, its name is clearly visible on the fuel tank. According to media reports, the company is preparing to introduce a new version of its popular X440T. This could involve reducing the engine capacity to approximately 350 cc to allow the bike to benefit from the new GST regulations. Bajaj Auto has already adopted a similar strategy for some of its bikes to take advantage of the tax.
According to the new GST 2.0 rules, motorcycles up to 350 cc are subject to 18 percent GST, while bikes with engines larger than 350 cc are taxed at 40 percent. In this situation, downsizing the X440T's engine could keep its price more affordable. Currently, the X440T is powered by a 440 cc single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled engine that produces 27 bhp and 38 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The X350T is expected to use the same platform, but the engine will be tuned to a 350 cc engine.
The bike spotted testing features X350T badging on the fuel tank. A new orange color and revised graphics have also been spotted. Design-wise, it's expected to have a roadster-like look similar to the X440T. It's expected to feature a round LED headlight, a muscular fuel tank, and wide handlebars.
Official specifications of the X350T have not yet been revealed. However, some reports claim that its engine could produce around 25 bhp and 35 Nm of torque. It could also feature USD front forks, dual-channel ABS, and a TFT display. Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp have not yet announced a launch date. However, it is believed that the bike could arrive in the Indian market soon.
